  • Seismic Sensors & Transducers

    Riverhawk Company

Displacement Pickups are vibration transducers that incorporate a spring-mass system with eddy-current damping using a frictionless pivot. This pivot is a spring flexure that serves as the ‘spring’ and a moment arm attached to the pivot serves as the ‘mass’, which allows resolutions down to the micro inch range. At frequencies above 50Hz, the mass remains fixed in space and becomes an inertial reference. A transducer within the pickup senses the motion of the mounting base relative to the inertial reference and converts it into a proportional signal. Appropriate damping results in a frequency response flat down to 10 Hz. Note that the pickup senses in only one plane, which is perpendicular to the mounting base.

  • Hardy Shaker

    HI-903 - Metrix

This is our top of the line Hardy Shaker. It provides the ability to set the amplitude and change the frequency range without the amplitude changing. This automation makes conducting vibration tests easier. Tests can be conducted on multiple vibration transducers, and then the saved data can be transferred via USB Flash Drive to be displayed in an automated and customizable report using an Excel template on your computer. In manual mode, the vibration test level and test frequency can be set from 7 Hz to 10,000 Hz. The high accuracy instrument can display the vibration level in terms of g’s peak, velocity peak (in/sec or mm/s) or displacement peak-to-peak (mils or µm). The unit can support payloads up to 800 grams (see frequency limits in the manual). A built-in display reads the output sensitivity, which can be stored in memory. Complete testing sequences and data can be stored in memory for each tested sensor, the unit logs the data on the spot or stores it for later use. For testing of heavy transducers or at high frequencies, the HI-903 automatically corrects the sensitivity calculation for the effects of transducer mass loading. A built-in self-test program checks for accuracy of all calculations. The HI-903 has a built-in battery charger that can operate on 120 or 240 VAC. The unit comes in a rugged Pelican case.

  • Circuit Breaker Analyzers & Timers

CAT Advanced Series - IBEKO Power AB

DV Power circuit breaker analyzer and timer utilizes the latest technological enhancements for safe and fast testing of circuit breakers. The sophisticated design ensures efficient and reliable operations in high-voltage substations and industrial environments. The CAT Advanced series are stand-alone or PC-controlled digital instruments for a circuit breaker testing. The timing channels record closing and an opening of the arcing, resistor, and auxiliary contacts. Also, the main contact channels can measure the resistance value of the pre-insertion resistors (if present in the circuit breaker). With CAT Advanced series instruments, it is possible to record graphs of open and close coil currents. Furthermore, it records displacements of the HV and MV circuit breaker moving parts. Test results can be saved via USB, PC or be printed via 112 mm (4.4 inches) thermal printer (optional accessory) in tabular and graphical form.A circuit breaker test consists of different operational modes and CAT Advanced series supports:Open (O)Close (C)Reclose (O-0,3s-C)Trip free (CO)O-0,3s-COOpen-Close (O-C)Close-Open (C-O)Open-Close-Open (O-C-O)First trip (O)Multiple operations, such as Open-Close and Open-Close-Open, can be initiated by using a predefined delay time or by sensing a breaker’s contact position. The auxiliary inputs are used to monitor dry and wet auxiliary contacts. The six coil control analog channels measure and record coil currents simultaneously (OPEN and CLOSE), up to 35 A AC/DC.The additional six voltage analog channels have four selectable voltage ranges available (±1 V, ±5 V, ±60 V and ±300 V AC/DC).A built-in micro-ohmmeter generates up to 500A true DC ripple-free current with an automatically regulated test ramp that provides performing static and dynamic contact resistance measurement.Three transducer channels provide a measuring displacement of the circuit breaker moving parts, contact wipe, over-travel, rebound, damping time and average velocity. Also, a user can connect either an analog or a digital transducer to these universal channels.

  • Circuit Breaker Analyzers & Timers

    IBEKO Power AB

CAT circuit breaker analyzers and timers are advanced standalone or a PC controlled instruments for circuit breaker maintenance. Typical application areas of CAT instruments are medium and high voltage substations at electric power generation, transmission, and factories of switchgear. Also, industrial environments and electric power distribution are suitable application areas for these circuit breaker testing instruments.DV Power CAT circuit breaker testing instruments are portable and lightweight. They are designed for performing mechanical operations intended for circuit breakers testing according to standards IEC 62271-100 and IEEE C37.09.These instruments measure:the timing of main contacts, pre-insertion resistor contacts, auxiliary contacts operations, coil currents, motion parameters, voltage recording, main circuit resistance, arcing contacts wipe, and any relevant analog signal.Motion transducer channels provide measuring a displacement of the circuit breaker moving parts, contact wipe, over-travel, rebound, damping time, and average velocity. Even more, CAT circuit breaker analyzer optionally has a built-in micro-ohmmeter. Hence, it provides the main circuit resistance measurement and dynamic resistance measurement. Dynamic resistance measurement is an effective method for arcing contacts condition assessment.

  • Extensometers for Indirect Tensile Testing of Asphalt

Model 3911 - Jinan Testing Equipment IE Corporation

For indirect tensile testing, such as for resilient modulus, these extensometers measure the lateral deformation of specimens. They are self-supporting on the sample and clip on in seconds. The traditional way this deformation has been measured was prone to errors caused by slight rocking of the sample as it is loaded. The self-supporting design of the Model 3911 eliminates this problem. This unit will handle the dynamic pulse requirements of resilient modulus testing. The speed of mounting makes test set-up much faster than with the older method. The pivot mounting used ensures that the specimen contact pads meet the often uneven asphalt surface as well as possible. The measuring range options available allow a wide range of testing, yet can easily measure the sometimes very small displacements required. The Model 3911 extensometers are strain gaged devices, making them compatible with any electronics designed for strain gaged transducers. Most often they are connected to a test machine controller. The signal conditioning electronics for the extensometer is typically included with the test machine controller or may often be added. In this case the extensometer is shipped with the proper connector and wiring to plug directly into the electronics. For systems lacking the required electronics, Epsilon can provide a variety of solutions, allowing the extensometer output to be connected to data acquisition boards, chart recorders or other equipment.

  • Bi-Axial or Axial Averaging Extensometers

Model 3560 - Jinan Testing Equipment IE Corporation

This extensometer is ideally suited for testing anisotropic materials such as advanced composites as well as for general purpose tests like determining Poisson’s ratio. The Model 3560BIA uses a design unique to Epsilon, where the knife edges remain parallel during the displacement. This approach greatly reduces crosstalk between axes and allows use on round or flat specimens with equal ease. These extensometers are very easy to mount. Integral springs hold the unit on the test sample. The parallel multiple flexure design makes these units very durable. The Model 3560AVG reads axial strain only as a single averaged output. It may also be supplied with two independent outputs, one measurement from each side of the specimen. This set-up is most commonly required when an indication of specimen bending is desired. The second version, the Model 3560BIA, includes both the averaged axial strain and the transverse strain. Again, this may also be configured as dual independent axial readings, which results in a three channel extensometer. The Model 3560 extensometers are strain gaged devices, making them compatible with any electronics designed for strain gaged transducers.
